"You are so young, so before all beginning, and I want to be you, as much as I can, to be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions, themselves--like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. The point is, to live everything. Like the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."
(Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet)
1. I have to keep reminding myself that I am not really that old--that I am, in fact, young. I think I have thought myself older than I am my whole life. To put it plainly, I hope motherhood is in the cards for me someday. But I am thankful that it is not now. For now, I bask in the joy of others' children.
2. We've been dreaming big dreams and I need to remind myself that adventures are always part gamble. They require both gumption and patience.
