A New Plan
The normal rhythm of our tiny newlywed life has been interrupted by a change. It is a big change that I've hinted at once or twice before, but have not had the bravery to utter out loud for fear that all our plans might come to nothing.
Today we bought our very first home. We are officially homeowners.
I cannot help but marvel at how God orchestrates our lives. All these comings and goings. A year ago, Zack and I had a very set plan--we were getting married and moving to Croatia. It was settled. We didn't want to live in the U.S., and we had no desire to stay in Pennsylvania (according to my man from New York, four years of college was plenty of time to spend in this state).
But then, five months or so ago, plans changed.
We wanted to move to Croatia to be missionaries under the guise of teaching English. But it seems like there are opportunities enough to share the gospel in this little stateside town; our time in Pennsylvania is not quite finished.
The new plan is do a little renovation. To fix up this gem of a house and learn how to be good neighbors and better friends. To host parties and gatherings. Feed some and provide a safe place of home for others. Husband and I are creating new plans and forming better dreams.
And I don't know what else to say. We bought a house! It seems we shall be living here for a few more years at the very least. I'll be sharing a few of our projects here on the blog as we endeavor to beautify our new corner of the world. I am thankful the facade needs little attentions. Its rather cute isn't it?
It is beautiful. I cannot wait to see how your plans with Zack beautify this home! Congratulations!
